Where *I* Stand on certain issues.

Gun Rights:

I stand by the second amendment as giving any citizen of the united states (Convicts not included) the right to keep and bear arms. No questions on that. Now, should we have stricter regulation on who buys guns, yes. I believe that there should be some sort of Psychological test before someone buys a weapon.

Abortion:

I am against abortion. To me, it's murder. Period.

Gay/Lesbian Rights:

Live and let live. Despite my what my upbringing would say.

Cloning:

Its always creeped me out. Not sure why. Until I learn more about it, I'm impartial.

Stem Cell Research:

Against it. Same as abortion. If (I don't remember where i heard it) the new artificial stem cell or whatever it is works, then go for it.

Medicinal Marijuana:

I don't agree with it, but, I can understand that (notably one here at JU) need it in order to ease pain, so, live and let live, i guess.

Outsourcing of jobs:

I don't like it from what i do know about it. I'm still learning about this topic.

War In Iraq:

Already discussed.

Religion and the State:

Although, I whole heartedly believe that those who founded this nation wanted religion to be accepted. Not necessarily incorporated into gov't. Religion is a part of this nation, whether its catholic, protestant, or judaism.

Religion and Schools:

I think it should be up to the school's surrounding community. (District, or in certain cases, small town schools) If the parents wish to incorporate religion into the school, then so be it. Otherwise...no.

Death Penalty:

Vehemently against it. (Although, on the flip side, when i see such things as rapes and murders of innocent little girls, and others, it makes my blood boil.)

Religion:

I don't consider my self "Religious" per se. I do believe that there is something, whether it be biology, "god", or whatever that 'regulates' the cosmos as we know it. Until further evidence...

Gay/Lesbian Adoption:

Tossing away the potential parents sexual preferences. What will happen to the child, will s/he be properly taken care of. I'm more concerned for the child/ren themselves, and what type of people the potential parents are (I.e. are they financially stable, etc...) Ethichs,etc.. aside.

(Thats it for now; I will add more later. It's getting close to time to head to class.)

Evolution/Intelligent Design"

IMO (Given my views on religion) Whatever created humans, just did their thing, and let us go. Evolution (IMO) is what resulted in what has happened so far.

Free Speech:

I believe it was voltaire who said, "I will fight for your right to say what you want, but, that does not mean i agree with what you say." That is where i stand with free speech. You have the right, IMO, but that doesn't mean i am going to pat you on the back.

Atheists:

While, it *is* their right to not affiliate with a religion. I feel that some go *too* far in their..."struggle to fight 'oppresive' religion" as a friend and atheist said once. Don't *force* it on me.

Religious Folk:

Same as above. Live and let live; don't force it on me.

War:

IMO, Sadly, at times, (WW2, against hitler) it is necessary. But, in other cases it should be used as a last resort.

Okay Lucas, I agree with about 85% of what you've said.

I can not go along with your stand on stem cell research. Mainly for the fact that I have MS and any substantial breakthrough in stem cell "could" greatly help me.

Death penalty, I don't see why we as taxpayers should have to foot the bill for keeping someone in prison for life.

Gun rights, only the last. We do NOT need physco tests. It would be just one more way for big brother to get nosy. And for someone to get even with you. Also "who" would pay for the testing? The gun buyer? Don't think so. If you have been judged mentaly disabled there is already a question on there about that. Answering yes to that question disqualifies you from purchasing any firearms.

This comes from the fact that laying there while they inject you with a solution that slowly kills you, a slow death, knowing whats happening. It mortifys me.

I didn't know about that question. I'd say have the buyer pay for it, a tax perhaps.

You should go read up on this because that ain't the way it happens. The first thing that happens is you go to "sleep" like anesthesia. After your asleep they give you the second round of drugs. "This" is the one that kills. It stops your heart. It "ain't" slow and you would have NO idea what's happening to you. And do you think that someone's whose throat was cut by some murdering SOB didn't die a slow death with a lot of time to reflect on what was happening? It ain't TV where they cut your throat and you die right away. That don't happen.
