I've been reading and practicing screenwriting. Essentially, reading Syd Field and working on an idea i have-checking myself and such. Below is a part, my first part, of a screenplay i am working on at the moment. I just wanted to share it cause i'm excited. The format is a bit off...things won't center on here...etc...

A heavy set Italian woman is seen sweeping the steps.

DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. COMMUNITY TRAIN STATION-MORNING
We see a man, PAUL LANGFORD. He is pacing nervously near a bench. He seems to be contemplating something. A whistle sounds off in the distance, causing him to be startle and jerk his head up. An Amtrak locomotive charges down the track. It finally slows with a hiss of steam, and comes to a stop.
CUT TO:
We look at one of the train’s exits for a few seconds before people start streaming out. A woman, twenty-four, with ginger curls and dazzling sapphire eyes steps out of the train and looks around. PAUL waves and yells at her.
PAUL
Catharine, Over here!
CATHARINE, looks over at him and smiles. She runs over to PAUL and hugs him.
PAUL
Why haven’t you called your pa?
CATHARINE
You know me, work, school, and love.
PAUL nods his head.
PAUL
I must’ve forgot. So..
PAUL shifts uncomfortably on his feet.
PAUL
(Continues)
When is your-fiancé supposed to arrive?
CATHARINE
In a couple days.
PAUL nods and motions CATHARINE towards an older Ford truck.
PAUL
Shall we head home?
CATHARINE
Yes, lets.
PAUL and CATHARINE stride over to the truck and climb in. PAUL starts the truck and pulls out.
