Does anyone here live close to Roanoke? (I think it is part of NC now...used to be part of Virginia)

I need someone, if they are willing to look up some info on the "lost colony". The majority of what i have found on the net is junk...pure CT. I can't pay, but i can offer deepest thanks....

Your school and public libraries, along with a good encyclopedia will be your best bet for finding information.

Or even a basic Google Search will net you good information. Here's one of the first links I came across on the first search:
http://statelibrary.dcr.state.nc.us/nc/ncsites/english1.htm

But that's all the research I'm doing for you. There is a lot of good info out there, the key is to know how to use the right search turns. Go to your school library and ask the librarian there for any information they may have on how to properly do online research. You get a lot more out of your research if you learn to do it yourself. It is a skill you'll need the rest of your life, when you won't always be able to pawn it off on others to do it for you.

You are confusing Roanoke Island, where the lost colony was located, with Roanoke Va.  They are far apart (Roanoke Va is in the western part of the state about 6 hours from the outer banks where the Island is located).

Every summer, they stage an outdoor play of what they believed happened to the lost colony down on Roanoke Island.  Zoomba gave you an excellent lead. As it is a major tourist attraction, I suspect if you Google Roanoke Island and the Outer Banks, you will get a lot more.

Also check out the NC museum of History, or Kitty Hawk Chamber of Commerce....some folks here think the lost colony assimilated into the Haliwa-Sapony Indian Tribe (lots of blue eyed indians around Halifax, NC and Hollister, NC) as well as the Lumbee Tribe around Lumberton, NC

Good Luck...
