What would you do?

If…

1. Iran successfully builds nukes, and uses one on Israel. Completely wiping it off the map.

2. The world is crippled by a mysterious disease; nearly 1/2 of the world’s population succumbs.

3. All middle eastern democracies tumble; leaving theocratic governments in their wake.

4. All European countries convert to a single currency.

5. Europe’s economy collapses; leaving the once prosperous nations in shambles.

6. Terrorists/Terrorist organizations ‘make their way’ into numerous countries governments; influencing them, they change those countries attitude towards the United States. For the worse.

7. Russia is left in famine as nearly 80% of its food production is devastated by locust, etc…

8. Canada fragments; Quebec, followed by other provinces secede from the country.

9. Australia, New Zealand, and the eastern side of the Pacific/ring of fire, get ravaged by earthquakes, tsunami’s, etc… Leaving them

10. The United States is left alone, the only ’super power’ in the world. Though it is weak, and split by sweeping, militaristic partisanship.

What would you do?

Its a scary thought. Most of these, I believe could happen, given current world issues. The only few i am "iffy" about, is # 9 & #7.

1. Iran successfully builds nukes, and uses one on Israel. Completely wiping it off the map.

Say "I told you so." Never take the U.N. or "diplomatic" options seriously again. Advocate the immediate nuking of Iran, North Korea, and any other nation that so much as looked at me funny. Nations wanting to get off the "stabbed in the face by a nuke" list should begin grovelling immediately.

2. The world is crippled by a mysterious disease; nearly 1/2 of the world’s population succumbs.

Either a. die, or b. move into a nice new house.

3. All middle eastern democracies tumble; leaving theocratic governments in their wake.

Volunteer my linguistic skills to the CIA or DOD.

4. All European countries convert to a single currency.

You mean, like the Euro? Roll over and go back to sleep.

5. Europe’s economy collapses; leaving the once prosperous nations in shambles.[b/]

Already happned. I'm waiting to see if they can get themselves out of the shambles.

[b]6. Terrorists/Terrorist organizations ‘make their way’ into numerous countries governments; influencing them, they change those countries attitude towards the United States. For the worse.

And this is different from the status quo how?

7. Russia is left in famine as nearly 80% of its food production is devastated by locust, etc…

Nothing. Locusts devastate 80% of your agricultural production? What can you do?

Besides, famines are caused by bad government, not food shortages. Seriously. So what should I do? Tell the Russians how to manage their farms? Mail them an ear of corn?

8. Canada fragments; Quebec, followed by other provinces secede from the country.

And this would be more interesting or meaningful than the current Canadian arrangement how?

9. Australia, New Zealand, and the eastern side of the Pacific/ring of fire, get ravaged by earthquakes, tsunami’s, etc… Leaving them

Send aid. It's not like a major tsunami is something you can prevent with good government.

10. The United States is left alone, the only ’super power’ in the world. Though it is weak, and split by sweeping, militaristic partisanship.

Sudan is a weak country, split by sweeping, militaristic partisanship. Nigeria is a weak country, split by sweeping, militaristic partisanship. Iraq is a weak country, split by sweeping, militaristic partisanship. And in spite of the fact that all three of these are oil-producing states, they share one thing in common with each other, and with every other weak country that is split by sweeping, militaristic partisanship: They're not even regional powers.

All the other nations of the world would have to have fallen into one collosal pesthole, in order for a weak America, split by sweeping, militaristic partisanship to be considered a "super power".

What would I do in that case? The same thing I'd do right now today: Point out that in spite of all its obvious and heinous flaws, America is still the best country on earth.

No, better idea...prepare for an invasion of Saskatchewan! Unless Lorne Calvart renames Regina "Winnipeg West," then we might be able to talk...
