Candidate #1: This Candidate follows his party platform strictly, without deviation. He is his party. He listens to the voters and nods his head and agrees and makes promises. But fails to deliver on them. This Candidate is primarily interested in political office for selfish or other narrow and usually short-sighted reasons.

Candidate #2: This Candidat is a part of his party. His political leadership is wise and without narrow partisanship

Now, examine each candidate, who would you vote for? #1 or #2?

If you say #1, well then let me tell you this. That candidate is a politician.

If you say #2, you have chosen a Statesman.

Whats the difference you ask?

A politician may enter politics for a good reason/goal. But has evolved into nothing but a zombie of his/her party. They appease the voters as needed.

A statesman also enters politics for a good reason/goal. And has contiued to do so. They listen to the voters. They lead wisely and command strong, according to the voters.

American voters lately have gotten into the cycle for voting for their favorite politician. Not many sit down and think about the difference between a politician and statesman. The term has been used over and over some have come to think that politician and statesman are interchangable. Most of todays leaders are politicians, not statesmen. What america needs to run this country is more statesmen. There are very few in americas government today. We (voters) need to look for those hidden statesmen. Those that are smoke screened by the corruptness of politics. Those people that would better america. Lead it forward.

Too many politicians, and not enough statesmen.
