Live on New Orleans; live on! A city devastated, a city in mourning, a ghost town...
Published on September 1, 2005 By ----- In Current Events
With hurricane katrina blasting New Orleans, Mississippi, and other regions on the gulf coast; one realizes that not only will the city, but the US will never be the same again.

Devastation, chaos, grief... Words that describe some of the emotions of some residents who have lost everything but the shirt on their back. Others have been more fortunate. A whole city; to be evacuated, empty for months.

How will life be in New Orleans after this, after the city is rebuilt. What will this do to the economy? Gas prices have hit 3.25 in some places in the US; in other places prices have hit 5$ a gallon due to unscrupulous gougers.

Many foreign nations have already pledged help. But will it be enough? It is said that katrina will scar the nation forever. How will people handle the emotional tragedies?

These and many other questions are out there, some answered, others unanswered. What will the future hold? Who knows; only time will tell.

Another thing that i have thought about is that hurricane season isn't over yet. Another one could hit the gulf coast, finishing it off. Once evacuated, will anyone return to New Orleans? Perhaps, for many it is there home.

Major re-thinking is needed, tkeeping out of the water with them should be enhanced. Find bigger, better ways.

I offer my comfort to all of those who have lost some one. I offer my thoughts. I offer anything they need.

Live on New Orleans; live on!

Don't remember August 29th 2005 as a day of infamy... remember all the events and activities over the next few months that showed the world that we do not wallow in the depths of our sorrow and anguish, we rise to the occasion and come out of the catastrophe better for the experience!

That is the American philosophy. Not that we are better, but that the indomitable spirit that is America continues, inspite of our troubles. Anything that doesn't kill us only makes us stronger!

-Exactly, don't forget, learn from it.

While I don't think it will be rebiult, I do think we will learn from it.
