Rant

After having watched a special on PBS about the OJ simpson trial it began to piss me off. The justice system esentially crumbled during the trial. It was then replaced with, guess what, the race card. With the rodney king incident still in the minds of LA citizens... the trial never was about justice IMO, it became trivial. It could be compared to the movie 'A time to kill', in that there was bias. Emotions raged... any sense of logic (witout including race) was lost... It filtered down to the idea of a rich, popular, black man was accused of murdering two white people... Notice the two words in bold in the previous sentence? That was the primary driving factor, not whether or not he was innocent or guilty... That disappeared quickley... Assumption and incompetance proved to be a big thing in the case... the history of the LAPD's...inconsistancy was the coup de grace in determining the legitimacy of its procedures... Another thing noted throughout the trial was the fact that, if you were black, or white, there was the possibility of racial bias in your views...

Bottom line, the moment the idea of 'race' was involved in the trial, Justice went out the door. Now, did he do it? I don't know.

(Ok, thinking/rant over)
