Cl*$ed C@p^!*ning works!

Well, in my local area, one of the news stations promotes closed captioning as a way to learn to read, and learn english as a second language. The problem is.... (At least on my t.v.) I don't get proper english... All i find is symbols, cut offs and other, strange things that make the "english" look like gibberish... Not the best way to learn to read, or english if i do say so. Perhaps it is just my t.v., or area...
