I define intelligence as it being, what the student knows. If they are able to grasp every subject, then they are "talented." How bout all of you? (I'll add more later, on a bit of a post and dash moment)

Incomplete. I've met idiot savants that could rattle off encyclopedias, yet had no comprehension or application. A squirrel has great memorization (hmm, where'd I bury that acorn?), yet very little intelligence. I believe it has more to do with the ability to acquire knowledge AND apply it usefully.

Perhaps... cause at times i feel very stupid/dumb... so, just looking for other definitions...

INtelligence is the capacity to learn.  That does not mean that capacity is used, but it is there.  Intelligence can be wasted, and it also can be absent.

I agree with Dr. Guy. Intelligence is the capacity to learn. Wisdom is the capacity to apply it.

Wisdom is the capacity to apply it.

I agree with that as well (altho I would add apply it correctly).

intelligence is seeing what a waste of time this blog is.

'I define intelligence as it being, what the student knows.'

That, to me is obviously knowledge (know-ledge), NOT intelligence. I like the biologists' definition of intelligence; the ability of an organism to adapt to its environment. I think that covers all bases without getting into the more contentious areas of more specific definitions.

Hmmm...ok....

Then why the hell, in the four years during HS did i constantly fail.... I struggled, in EVERY THING! That, to me, shows me that i am a complete and utter moron... and I do not want to be that way....

Warning: Brutal Honesty Ahead.

Sign? What Si-- *thud*

From what i've read you say to me, this wasn't the opinion you took. I figured you took me for nothing more than a moron... remember the comment about working at McD's ? Yeah, that hurt...

You see, through out my whole life... (not counting my mother) I've been considered a class A retard... by the teachers, other kids, etc... No shit... So, I just (i guess) have carried that with me...

'I'd suggest you become a teacher. I think you would stand head and shoulders above at least half of your peers in this career field.'

LW, you're thoroughly rotten - to Lucas AND to teachers! And Lucas, you never said you were tall!
