The #7 ranked Oregon Ducks (BCS rankings) have to wait. Until December 4th to see if they will get an 'at large' birth in the BCS. The chances are slim with such power house teams as Notre Dame and Ohio State also vying for a spot.
With USC having one game left against inner city rival UCLA, it looks like a lock that a USC-Texas Natl. championship will be played.
1. USC (10-0)
Next Game: UCLA 12/04
-If the Trojans fumble against the Bruins it could present an opportunity for the Ducks to slip in.
2. Texas (10-0)
Next Game: Texas A&M 11/25
-Same as above, If Texas should slip (Unlikely) the ducks could slip into a BCS birth.
3. Penn State (10-1)
Next Game: --
-It looks like Penn State (Suprisingly) are done and locked in at the #3 spot after Miami stumbled against Georgia Tech. It is possible that if either Texas or USC stumble, the Nittany lions will end up playing for the national championship.
4. LSU (9-1)
Next Game: Arkansas 11/25 /SEC Championship: Either Georgia -or- Auburn (My pick - Auburn)
- If either game results in a Loss (Championship is most likely IMO) then the ducks could slip in.
5. Virginia Tech (9-1)
Next Game: UNC / ACC Championship: FSU
-If UNC pulls an upset. (Possibility: 1-10 Scale = 1) Which would be a heck of a shocker, then the ducks (depending on how the other games turn out) could get a birth.
6. Ohio State (9-2)
Next Game: --
-Ohio St. is set and awaiting the out come. They have a more of a chance because of their prominence in the BCS.
7. Oregon (10-1)
Next Game: --
-The Ducks are ready, and waiting...
Predictions:
UCLA pulls off an upset. Texas A&M pulls off an upset. Georgia beats LSU in SEC championship. Florida State beats VT in ACC Championship. (#1,2,4 and 5 teams drop.) Allowing Penn State and (Most likely) Ohio State to play in the Natl. Championship. The Ducks would most likely (although i'm not erasing any doubt) lock a BCS birth. Another Scenario is that the Ducks could jump the Buckeyes (Ohio State) and play against Penn State in the Natl. Championship, its highly unlikely, but its possible. The BCS is fickle.
