The '08 Orange bowl pitted the Penn State Nittany Lions against the Florida State Seminoles. Both teams coaches, combined, total over 700 wins in nearly 50 years (combined) of coaching. On one side you have Penn State's coach, known as "Joe Pa", who has had dissenters (most notably alumni) calling for his head. On the other side you have Bobby Bowden, who was thought to be "winding down". Both coaches, and teams proved the dissenters wrong.

As I sat and watched the game, it was a total deadlock. One would stop the other''s offense, and vice versa. Both teams combined for over 500 yards of offense. One word: Stalemate.

I sit here (at 9:42 PST) with the Seminoles at the 2 yard line, and with PSU up by 7, in the second overtime. And seonds later, FSU scored, sending the game into triple overtime. That means that in this overtime, if you score a touchdown, you *have* to go for a 2 point conversion.

I've got to say that this game is great; it's certainly lived up to the hype. So far, I think it is better than what most think the National Championship is going to be.

*Sighs* My nerves have been going crazy. (I'm rooting for Penn State Univ. if you didn't know.)

(I will update the final score asap)

Edited: Final Score -- Penn State: 26 Florida State: 23

Just a note... it was the '06 Orange Bowl.

And that was an INSANE game... A real knock-down, drag-out fight every step of the way. Thankfully the officiating was excellent (for once). It was just heart-breaking when Paul Posluszny got injured at the end of the game... he IS the PSU defensive line and it did not look good for us when he got carted off. Something else that didn't help with my confidence was watching how much of a pounding Robinson was taking on EVERY play.

What made the game even more "interesting" were the kickers... I think that FSU and PSU have the worst kickers in all the NCAA... I mean dear lord! They missed practically everything (and that one that bounced off the up-rights in the third OT must have made FSU cry) from distances that should have been gimmies. Thankfully the PSU kicker sucked a little less than the FSU kicker.

Thanks to that game, I didn't get to bed until around 1:30am... So tired today... so tired

Woohoo PSU!

Irk! Sorry, meant 06, but for some reason....oy!

--Really...I'm suprised Robinson was walking afterwards. But, he's a tough guy. And really, they definantly are not who you'd want to kick in clutch situations. Try the punter for a pooch kick or whatever...

PENN STATE!!!

(I am a big PSU fan, but, they come after U/Oregon (I'm Oregonian ), West Virginia (My mother's grandfather comes from there, from when it was virginia...but...no supporting Va. for me) and then PSU.

One thing you need to realize, they really couldn't have both won...its a bit...impossible...like teh DNC being organized.
