"You're going to relegate my history to a month?" the 68-year-old actor says in an interview on CBS' "60 Minutes" to air Sunday (7 p.m. EST). "I don't want a black history month. Black history is American history."

Freeman notes there is no "white history month," and says the only way to get rid of racism is to "stop talking about it."

The actor says he believes the labels "black" and "white" are an obstacle to beating racism.

"I am going to stop calling you a white man and I'm going to ask you to stop calling me a black man," Freeman says.

I've never agreed with celebrities, i feel most of them are extremely full of themselves. But, this time its different. I have to agree with Freeman's comments concerning racism and black history month, as well as the labels.

I agree with him to some extent, but we can't ignore our differences either. I think that in order to appreciate, you have to identify. I agree with the statement that black history is american history. But to deny race is to deny difference. It's not about equality, it's about appreciating people who look different, learn different, live differently from ourselves.

Ehh, I disagree with you on that. I don't think he's saying to ignore that so and so is black, and i am white, but to stop using them as excuses and labels,etc... Perhaps i am reading incorrectly...
