China -or- Taiwan

China -or- Tibet

India -or- Pakistan (Kashmir province)

Israel -or- Palestine

Each of these rivals face off in some problem or another. Which would you support? How would you justify it?

Me:
-Taiwan
-Tibet
-India
-Israel

agree, Taiwan should be independant, however, if I were the kind of guy who believed in veto power, I would say that the PRC should get the veto.

Ehh... I don't, If china is given a veto, then they have 'TOO' much power IMO...

Well, I don't believe in vetoes at the UN anyway. It allows one of a select few countries to basically overrule a consensus of all the others. It basically makes a few countries have "Too much power." Not to mention the excessive vetoing going on in the cold war.

My support of palestine is it having its own piece of land to call its own, along with Israel having its own..

How is that "supporting Palestine"?

What you support, it seems to me, is the Israeli position.

Most of the groups speaking for "Palestine" still have the stated goal of driving Jews into the sea. Which one of these groups do you support and how does this group further the goal you want to reach?

As I see it there are three major groups representing Palestine:

1. The PLO

The PLO (consisting of Fatah who run the PA) currently refuse to act against Hamas or Hizbollah and have supported Saddam's invasion of Kuwait.

2. Hamas

Hamas want to drive the Jews into the sea and are actively targeting Israeli civilians (primarily children).

3. Hizbollah

Hizbollah also want to drive the Jews into the sea and are acting much like Hamas, shelling Israel from Lebanon and Gaza.

WHICH one of these groups do you support? Which one of these groups will achieve the goal you state and how?

You cannot "support Palestine" because "Palestine" is an abstract concept. "Palestine" doesn't do anything. "Palestine" is a piece of land consisting, politically, of a Jewish and an Arab part. Supporting a piece of land means nothing. It is political positions and/or people who hold them who you support or not support.

You see, when I say I support Israel, I mean to say exactly that: I support the current official position of Israel. You can look it up and you will know exactly what I support.

So I ask again, when you say you "support Palestine": WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

He has no idea, Leauki, haven't you figured that out yet?

Supporting "Palestine" seems to be the standard reaction of those who know nothing about Palestine.

I wonder if those who feel that the Arabs' war against Israel in 1949 was justified would also openly support the Jew-free Arab world that an Arab victory would have created or whether they have never thought about that.

For all purposes of liberal history sephardic Jews stopped existing in 1900.

Are either of you two listening today?

I said, that i support Palestine in getting their own piece of land, living peacefully.... thats it... I don't want them to fucking wipe out israel, or to go fuck a duck...

Communist China does have a veto in the UNSC, if I recall correctly.
