I've been doing some family geneaology recently and came upon two pieces of family info that made me shine. The first is a photo of a, Jacob Stadtfeld. He is my great-great-great-grandfather, from (then) Germany. It is followed by a photocopy of the obituary in the Oakland Tribune (June 2nd, 1906 ~ Evening Edition). Ok, get this. For the last few months, the community college that I attend have been looking for a mascot. They received numerous entries. Now, the college is in what would be defined as "high desert". The three finalists were: Bandits, Desparados, and Badgers. Guess which one is now our mascot? Badgers. So, my CC is now known as the: Alrighty then...."Badgers" just seems so out of place. Partially cause, as long as i have lived here (17+ years), I have yet to hear of any badge...
