So, my former high school was known as the Pelicans, or Mighty Pelicans. Apparently, we were the only school in the US with the white pelican as a mascot. It has been our mascot for years. (60+ i believe). Anywho, what were you like in highschool? Are you similar today? Are you still friends with those you knew in HS? I was a drifter. I never considered myself part of any clique/group. I was well known in my class, but wasn't "popular". It was more of, "Hey, its that guy". In...

Three years later... We are still in Iraq. You know what I think.... Thats what I think, despite my frustrations, etc... "Keep on, keeping on..." (Joe Dirt) "Stand up, stand tall, stand brave. Never cower, never forget those who died to give you freedom. Honor them...remember them by fighting for freedom for all." ~LucasNOTE: The original picture ( w/o the writing) belongs to another person. The writing is my mother and I's idea.

We (Mum & I) leave tomarrow (Tuesday) at around noon-ish and are heading up to OHSU in Portland to go to follow up appointments with the various doc's we saw in October. So far, My CO2 levels are normal. My heart has decreased in size. (Not quite the normal size yet, but close.) My lung is still collapsed (I believe). My diaphragm is still not working. *thinks* My hypertension is kaput...I believe. (According to what my 'normal' doc said.) This time, we are going to discuss various p...

Lets face it, we're all hypocrits. Filthy-stinking-hypocrits. (Well, maybe not filthy or stinking) Face it...in one thing or another, we are all hypocrits. We claim one thing but do that. We insist that certain things are not done around us, but we do them ourselves. Some of us are revered as 'demigods', i.e. Barry Bonds, etc... Yep, we are all hypocrits. *raises hand* Me to. You?

I’ve grown to enjoy screenwriting (along with writing: fiction, poetry, etc…). However, it can be stressful...the preciseness of it -is enough to make any anal or OC person seem small in comparison. Also, trying to get your ideas (this isn’t just with screenwriting) to fall into place is bit difficult because of the requisites. Regardless of the writing,re-writing, re-writing, re-writing…(no typo…) it’s rewarding. I mean, writing in general, to have your ideas down on paper and the pos...

I hear every so often, people saying that they can't stand Islamic people, or Muslims. Why though? I think to myself. What have they done to that person? Do they have a logical/rational reason, or is it pure racism/religious intolerance? My question for you guys/gals, is, "what is your view towards Muslims/Islam?" ~EW

Just thought I'd post my classes for spring term '06... Math 95, Writing 122, Health 295 (Unfortunately), Computer Conepts (Well, hope the hours of net time helps ;] ), then my Computer concepts lab... Also, I've narrowed down my choices on where i want to head after graduating KCC. There are, Richmond University-London (Cost is a bit much, but, in terms of history program/department prestige, its great), Univ-SoCal (Bit expensive, but is a top notch film school), UCLA (same as USC, but...

I've been thinking, sure, most people are acquainted with the sense of selfishness in the bad way, i.e. Concerned chiefly or only with oneself: “Selfish men were... trying to make capital for themselves out of the sacred cause of human rights” (Maria Weston Chapman). Arising from, characterized by, or showing selfishness: a selfish whim. Now, lets say we apply it to being selfish in being selfish and that your 'selfish whim' is to make sure that your family is well of. Could that b...

In HST 102, we covered the Civil War a week ago. So, that got me to reading books about Abe Lincoln. This made me think about a few things. Abe Lincoln is like Bush in that they both have done things that were not "status quo" according to the nation. (e.g. Emancipation Proclamation/ Iraq War) They were/are both opposed vigorously by opposing parties. Both have been/were accused of illicit practices (e.g. the "detective" bureau under lincoln / NSA debacle) They both had age...

...Another year...yeah, well i can't say that on JU can I now... Well, today is march 1st...my birthday...19. Wow, not much seems different. (Or am I mixing the 19th with the 21st birthday...) Well, today...is just another day. Nothing more, nothing less. On a different note: My mom got a job yesterday. That means we're probably (ok, most likely) going to have to move. Hopefully just a few blocks over...and with my sister. She starts monday, 8-5. Her UPS boss is giving her 5...

I've never been a fan of Valentines day. Yes, I do care for my family,etc... It just never has clicked with me. *shrugs* Don't know why... Meanwhile, around here (kfalls, school) everyone is in a pompous demeanor. Its enough to make anyone lose their dinner... The constant...'passion' is overwhellming (SP?). Perhaps its cause i don't have a 'significant other' that i am...indifferent to the day. *shrughs* Don't know... ~Lucas

I've been writing and posting over at another website. A writing website. I posted couple poems, and to my amazement... The were received well. One got a 6 star rating. (1-5 stars / or (6 star = exceptional) / 6 stars) I was shocked, definantly. I've been absorbing in the advice like a sponge. I even have a few ideas now.....Well, so far so good. Best Regards, Lucas

Well, I've finally done it. After long consideration (and lack of funds), I made the decision and finished up just recently. What might you ask? I've paid for a 'writers/authors' membership at a writing website that i have reviewed at for nearly 5 years... I've been wanting to... But with every check,etc... that i have received. Its burned a hole in my pocket, so to speak. I'm ecstatic. (This means less of me around here....*waits for cheering*...Just kidding about the waiting... ...

*Sighs* Here we go again... Well, the local tribe has demanded that all of the roads, and locals that bear the name 'squaw', (geographic locals, etc..) be renamed. They also happened to insist that instead of squaw, to use 'shrew'. For those who don't get it, Shrew (according to Dictionary.com) means: 1. Any of various small, chiefly insectivorous mammals of the family Soricidae, resembling a mouse but having a long pointed snout and small eyes and ears. Also called shrewmouse. ...
