Another year over, One more begun, More time spent missing you, Sweet Serenity. I call her name... I remenisce, Of the days spent with her, My eldest daughter, Sweet Serenity. I cry out, I question God... "Why did you take her?" "Did you need another angel?" "Why take her, why not take another?' It wasn't her time, she was only seventeen. Sweet serenity bade good bye, Another flame of hope doused, In this troubled world. Another year over, One mor...

I, am a human. I, have problems. I, am a compulsive spender. I, have done things that I’m not proud of. I, have said unkind things to others. I, have let my inabilities rule me. I, have not tried hard enough. I will change. I, will be better. ~Lucas Bailey 3/17/06

I've been thinking, sure, most people are acquainted with the sense of selfishness in the bad way, i.e. Concerned chiefly or only with oneself: “Selfish men were... trying to make capital for themselves out of the sacred cause of human rights” (Maria Weston Chapman). Arising from, characterized by, or showing selfishness: a selfish whim. Now, lets say we apply it to being selfish in being selfish and that your 'selfish whim' is to make sure that your family is well of. Could that b...

First of all, take your notions of me aside and leave them be. Please, Read on….with an open mind. I ambled (or more so, stumbled) on to JU about a year and a half ago. I arrived little more than an 18 year old, who had just graduated high school. My ego was puffed out like blowfish; my thought process was, I admit, juvenile. I knew that there were other types of people out in the world, yet, it was like haze stood in the way. I had grown up to the age of 18 with a mantle of ignorance/...

In HST 102, we covered the Civil War a week ago. So, that got me to reading books about Abe Lincoln. This made me think about a few things. Abe Lincoln is like Bush in that they both have done things that were not "status quo" according to the nation. (e.g. Emancipation Proclamation/ Iraq War) They were/are both opposed vigorously by opposing parties. Both have been/were accused of illicit practices (e.g. the "detective" bureau under lincoln / NSA debacle) They both had age...

Well, I've slowly gotten over my past act of stupidity when it comes to love. However, now...I'm sorta, kinda falling for a girl who works at a coffee shop a block away from my house. She is around 6'2", has blonde hair, bright blue eyes (They drive me nuts), and she has the best personality. When I go over there, and she is there, She and i chat while she does her thing. She's friendly, nice...(G'ah!) What am i to do? I want to ask her out, but...I stutter when i try to... I also feel...

...Another year...yeah, well i can't say that on JU can I now... Well, today is march 1st...my birthday...19. Wow, not much seems different. (Or am I mixing the 19th with the 21st birthday...) Well, today...is just another day. Nothing more, nothing less. On a different note: My mom got a job yesterday. That means we're probably (ok, most likely) going to have to move. Hopefully just a few blocks over...and with my sister. She starts monday, 8-5. Her UPS boss is giving her 5...

I've never been a fan of Valentines day. Yes, I do care for my family,etc... It just never has clicked with me. *shrugs* Don't know why... Meanwhile, around here (kfalls, school) everyone is in a pompous demeanor. Its enough to make anyone lose their dinner... The constant...'passion' is overwhellming (SP?). Perhaps its cause i don't have a 'significant other' that i am...indifferent to the day. *shrughs* Don't know... ~Lucas

Reading some of the articles here and elswhere... I find it strange...that people 'insist' that the muslims do something about the terrorists and rioters. However, why don't YOU do something about yours? Each and everyone of you. Rioters and 'terrorists' are not only confined to the middle east or a far off land. Quit with the THEM crap. Work in your area. Since you seem to insist we deal with us first. Not only that. But you complain about what they say "infidels" and all that. Well, did yo...

I've been writing and posting over at another website. A writing website. I posted couple poems, and to my amazement... The were received well. One got a 6 star rating. (1-5 stars / or (6 star = exceptional) / 6 stars) I was shocked, definantly. I've been absorbing in the advice like a sponge. I even have a few ideas now.....Well, so far so good. Best Regards, Lucas
